Cookie Policy

What is a cookie
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. They let the website recognise your device, for example to keep you signed in. Websites can also save small amounts of information in your browser's storage (sometimes called "local storage"), which works in a similar way. In this policy, "cookies" includes both.
How Wakten uses cookies
Wakten uses cookies on our website (wakten.com), in the Wakten app and on clinics' Booking Pages. There are two kinds of cookies:
- Essential: needed for the website or app to work, or to provide a feature you ask for.
- Non-essential: used, for example, for analytics or advertising.
Wakten only uses essential cookies. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies, so we do not need to ask for your consent and we do not show a cookie banner.
The cookies we set
| Name | Where | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| wakten-theme | Website (browser storage) | Remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme, if you change it | Until you clear your browser storage |
| refresh_token | Wakten app (cookie) | Keeps clinic staff securely signed in, so they do not have to log in on every page | Up to 30 days; removed when you sign out |
| NEXT_LOCALE | Wakten app (cookie) | Remembers the language you chose, if you change it | Deleted when you close your browser |
The contact form on our website does not set any cookies.
Third-party cookies
If you choose to sign in to the Wakten app with Google, Google sets temporary cookies to complete the sign-in securely. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies and browser storage in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to sign in to the Wakten app, and the website will not remember your theme.
Changes
If we start using non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before using them.
